AC MILAN 30-YEAR ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS

Milanello hosted the President’s big-day.

(IN THE PHOTO: the President cuts the cake at Milanello) MILANELLO – The President Silvio Berlusconi arrived at Milanello by helicopter at around 12.50 local time on Saturday and was welcomed by the club’s CEOs Barbara Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani.

Together, they made their way to the Club House where the President and his daughter followed Adriano Galliani in wishing Sinisa Mihajlovic a happy birthday.

The President also took the chance to thank Francesco Manico, the man behind the celebratory cake for the President’s 30 year anniversary in charge, before having a photo with the cake-designer and two CEOs.

After lunch, the President gathered the players, coach and managers together for the cutting of the cake.

The President then gave a toast in which he thanked Adriano Galliani in particular and spoke of his wish to see Milan back at the highest levels once again.

To the players meanwhile, he had the following message: “I hope you achieve all of the future goals you have in your hearts and minds.”

It was then Barbara Berlusconi’s turn and she took the opportunity to thank all of the kitchen and waiting staff for the quality of the service on the 30 year anniversary of her father’s presidency.

During the event, the President spoke to journalists at the press-room at Milanello. These were his comments: “We still harbour the dream of an all-Italian Milan. We have many young Italians in defence and we’re just missing a few in attack. Even if for the moment we have Bacca who is a clinical finisher. There have been many reforms that I have put forward in the past 30 years that have been successful such as the Champions League formula. We’re still missing something like a time-out as they have in basketball or even a European Championship that involves clubs with a great European tradition. There were three final deadlines with Mr. Bee which we weren’t able to respect because of the collapse of the Asian stock-market. But we like him a lot and we like his plan to commercialise the Milan brand in China. We ignored other offers because they were only seeking popularity.”
