A sweet and sour day for Hellas Verona first delighting their fans at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi Stadium, though, at the end conceding a draw. The last home game this season and the draw risking their qualification to the Europa League next season. Brave reaction by Udinese unable to win this away game, but after being down, equalizing in extra time. Last time Udinese won an away game was in February! It is forward Luca Toni to open the score in the 14th minute. Here is the thing. Referee Tommasi granting a penalty to Verona conceded by Udinese midfielder Allan Loureiro after a foul on Verona defender Alessandro Agostini. Taking the penalty spot is precisely Luca Toni. A one on one …. Toni sets his sight and there you go converting the penalty with a right footed shot defeating Udinese goalkeeper Simone Scuffet in the bottom right corner! It’s the 20th goal this season for Toni.
Verona increasing the score in the 54th minute. This time the goal is by midfielder Emil Hallfredsson getting the assist by Juan Gomez Taleb. Hallfredsson defeating Udinese goalkeeper Scuffet with a left footed shot in the bottom left corner. It’s the 2nd goal this season for Hallfredsson.
Two minutes later… Bam! Udinese shortening the distance with the one and only forward Antonio Di Natale in the 56th minute. Di Natale defeating Verona goalkeeper Rafael with a right footed shot in the center.
Ruining the party for Verona to take away at least 1 point is midfielder Emmanuel Badu in the 91st minute!
