Montella: “A tricky game for us. Next two crucial”

Vincenzo Montella spoke to the media ahead of AC Milan's visit to the Stadio Franchi tomorrow.

"Rossi and Gomez are both out? I'm sorry for the lads and for us because they're both players who can make things happen for you. They'll be two new signings for next year.

"AC Milan so far behind in Serie A? They are far behind but they have players who can turn a game for you at any moment. It will be a tricky match for us.

"Maldini's recent comments? I think AC Milan are going through a period of transition. They were at the top of world football for 20 years.

"Fiorentina's season? Overall it's been a great year. We're still in the mix for third place and we have a cup final to play. You make mistakes even when you win. Being a coach is never easy.

"Prandelli staying on as Italy coach? I'm pleased. He's got people excited about the national team again and has planned well.

"Is Balotelli difficult to manage? I don't know him personally, he seems like a guy who gives you a lot. He's a potential matchwinner. I hope he doesn't play tomorrow.

"Matri and Matos? I have a lot of belief in both and they're going to be key for us between now and the end of the season.

"Is Vargas carrying an injury? He has a slight problem but he'll almost certainly make the squad for tomorrow.

"Third place? I believe we can still do it. The next two games will be crucial.

"When will we see Gomez and Rossi on the pitch again? I don't know if it will be possible this year. We'll have to see."
