Stats before the game: This will be the first match between Milan and Slavia Prague in European competitions. Including qualifiers, Slavia will be the fourth Czech team faced by the Rossoneri in Europe, after Sparta Prague (eight matches), Viktoria Plzen (two) and Slovan Liberec (two). In all European competitions, Slavia Prague has never won in the eight away games played in Italy (1D, 7P), in which they faced seven different teams (Roma x2, Bologna, Udinese, Palermo, Fiorentina, Genoa and Inter). Milan have won six of their last 10 home matches in European competitions (1N, 3L), after failing to win in the previous five (2N, 3L); furthermore, the Rossoneri have won without conceding three of the four most recent home matches played in the knockout stages of a continental competition. This is the third time that Milan have reached the round of 16 of the UEFA Europa League but have not yet won a match at this stage of the tournament: two defeats against Arsenal (2017/18), a draw and a defeat against Manchester United (2020/21).
