👉🏆    Roma won the UEFA Europa League Quarterfinals Second Leg crushing Feyenoord on Thursday 20 April 2023 at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium in Rome, Italy. The Giallorossi grabbed a spot in the Semi-final thanks to the goals by Leonardo Spinazzola, Paulo Dybala, Stephan El Shaarawy, and Lorenzo Pellegrini, deservedly reaching the semi-final. Feyenoord ended in 10 due to Gimenez’s expulsion (frustration foul on Mancini).

Mourinho’s boys will play the first leg of the semifinals against Bayer Leverkusen at the Olimpico on May 11th.

AS Roma opened the score in the 60th minute. Leonardo Spinazzola defeated Feyenoord goalkeeper with a left-footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Bryan Cristante.

Feyenoord equalized in the 80th minute with Igor Paixão defeating Roma goalkeeper with a headed shot to the center.

A moment of joy for the Roman gladiators with forward Paulo Dybala scoring in the 89th minute.

Roma gained momentum with the goal by forward Stephan El Shaarawy in the 101st minute.

In the 109th minute, Captain Lorenzo Pellegrini scored with a right footed shot to the high center. The goal ratified following VAR Review.

✅  Stats before the game: The match lost by Roma on the Feyenoord field in the first leg match was the first defeat suffered by the Giallorossi against the Dutch team. The Capitoline have drawn all of their last four home games against opponents from this country in Europe (all 1-1). The last three times Roma have played in the quarter-finals in European competitions they have always reached the semi-finals (2017/18 v Barcelona in the Champions League, 2020/21 v Ajax in the Europa League and 2021/22 v Bodø/Glimt in the Conference League ), after being eliminated on the previous six occasions. Roma could reach their seventh semi-final in their history in UEFA competitions and their third semi-final in the last three seasons at European level, after the one against Manchester United in the Europa League and the one against Leicester last season in the Conference League. Roma have progressed in each of their last three knockout ties in major European competitions when they lost the first leg by the margin of one goal, including in this season’s Europa League play-off against Salzburg.
