🏆👉 AS Roma won the Europa League Playo-offs Second Leg game on penalty shootouts on Thursday 22 February 2024 at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium in Rome, Italy at 21:00.   The First Leg ended 1-1. Daniele De Rossi will make his coaching debut in a home match in European competitions; as a player he faced Feyenoord twice, in the round of 32 of the 2014/15 Europa League, starting both games and winning with an aggregate score of 3-2 (1-1 at home, 2-1 away) .

Roma beats Feyenoord on penalties and flies to the Round of 16 of the Europa League. Regular time ended 1-1, Santiago Giménez and Lorenzo Pellegrini scored. Svilar was the absolute protagonist, the Giallorossi goalkeeper Mile Svilar saved two penalty kicks. Errors from the spot by Hancko, Jahanbakhsh and Lukaku.

GOAL! Zalewski converts the decisive penalty kick. Roma qualified for the round of 16!

Not a good start for the Giallorossi. Feyenoord opened the score in the 5th minute. Santiago Giménez defeated AS Roma goalkeeper following a low cross from Hartman, El Shaarawy anticipates Nieuwkoop, the ball hits Gimenez’s shoulder and ends up in the net.

Roma equalized in the 15th minute. Captain Lorenzo Pellegrini defeated Feyenoord goalkeeper with a right-footed shot to the top right corner. The assist is by Stephan El Shaarawy.


✅     Stats before the game: Roma are unbeaten in their six previous home matches against Dutch teams (W2, D4), the nation whose teams they have met several times without ever losing in the main European competitions on a par with France, Bulgaria and Turkey. The Giallorossi’s last home match against these opponents was against Feyenoord in last season’s Europa League quarter-final, winning 4-1 after extra time.  Feyenoord have never won in their last six away games against Italian teams in major European competitions (D1, L5), losing each of their last four – they have never lost five away games in a row against teams from the same country.  Roma have won all of their last eight home matches in European competitions and have not done better since a run of 13 home wins in a row between September 1992 and November 1998, all matches played in the UEFA Cup.  Feyenoord have not won any of their last four matches in European competition, with three defeats before the first leg draw; Furthermore, in this part he never scored more than one goal per game.
