TRIVIA

Inter striker Romelu Lukaku has scored in each of his last seven matches for Inter in European competitions (eight goals and four assists). In all competitions, the Belgian striker has scored 33 goals this season. The last Nerazzurri player to do better was Samuel Eto’o in 2010/11 (37).

In the semi-final, Suso and Luuk de Jong have become the tenth and eleventh Europa League goal-scorers in the current competition, and excluding own-goals, only Manchester United (12) have seen more different players get on the scoresheet this season.

THE WORDS OF ANTONIO CONTE

“We wanted to become protagonists and we’ve managed to be competitive in all the competitions we’ve been involved in. I saw that we were making progress through our work, that our ideas were taking root. We believed and became braver. The fact that we had more courage meant that our chances of winning the Europa League increased. We need to demonstrate this out on the pitch against a team that is used to winning this competition. It won’t be easy, but we’ll do all that we can to bring joy to our fans.”

THE WORDS OF HANDANOVIC AND GODIN

HANDANOVIC: “We’re good together as a group, then the wins are something else. It’s winning that brings you confidence, courage and awareness, it helps you to correct the smallest of mistakes and that’s how we’ve improved. The team has a desire to improve, to make sacrifices and to win games. This group has been strong, solid and compact since the start of the year.”

GODIN: All of us want the same thing: to win, and to do that we have to do everything we’ve prepared and play with our hearts, from the first whistle until the end of the game, facing the game as a team. We have to play as we’ve prepared in training plus something more, we have to do everything to win this game and take home the trophy, that’s what everyone wants; the team, the staff, the Club and all of the fans, who are by our side despite the current situation.”
