AC Milan survived in San Siro grabbing a suffered victory in the agonizing 94th minute.  Milan winning the UEFA Europa League Group Stage, Matchday 2 on Thursday 28 September at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy.   Milan leading with a 2-0 lost control while Rijeka managed to equalize for the 2-2. It is until “Milan’s savior” forward Patrick Cutrone scoring the decisive goal to claim the victory that the fans just went wild! Surely, you bet Milan Coach Vincenzo Montella must have felt a relief!

Here is the Standing situation after Matchday 2.  AC Milan leading Group D with 6 points and a positive goal difference of +5 followed by AEK Athens with 4 points and a positive goal difference of +1.

It is AC Milan to open the score in the 14th minute. Forward André Silva defeating Rijeka goalkeeper Simon Sluga with a right footed shot in the bottom right corner. The assist is by Fabio Borini.

Milan increasing the score for the 2-0 in the 53rd minute. It is Mateo Musacchio to score from close range with a right footed shot in the center. The assist is by defender Leonardo Bonucci following a corner conceded by Rijeka forward Filip Bradaric. This is the first goal by Musaccio as a Milan player!

Rijeka shortening the distance in the 84th minute. It is Boadu Maxwell Acosty to defeat AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma with a left footed shot in the bottom left corner.

Oops…. Milan’s losing control and the situation complicates in the 88th minute. Referee Orel Grinfeldgiving a penalty to Rijeka conceded by Milan Alession Romagnoli after a foul on Matic Crnic inside the penalty area. It is Josip Elez to convert the penalty with a right footed shot in the bottom left corner despite Donnarumma’s effort. Nothing to do, but it is just a 2-2 draw.

The hero!  The joyous moment just as a thriller arriving in the very last minute.  In the 94th minute, there it is forward Patrick Cutrone  with an inspired powerful  left footed shot defeating goalkeeper in the center!   Way to go for  Fabio Borini  with another assist!
