✅ Unbelievable! Napoli lost the Coppa Italia Round of 16 defeated by Cremonese on penalties on Tuesday 17 January 2023 at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in Napoli, Italy. Cremonese qualified to the quarter-finals of the Italian Cup and will face Muorinho’s Roma on February 1st and will be one way.
In the first half, Cremonese managed took the lead after eighteen minutes through Charles Pickel. Napoli reacted and first there was an equalizer by Juan Jesus in the 33rd minute and then the doubling signed by Giovanni Simeone in the 36th minute. In the second half, Napoli controlled the game, but in the end suffered the mockery of Afena-Gyan’s header which took the match to extra time. Worth noting is the expulsion of Sernicola in the 100th minute leaving Cremonese with 10 players. Lobotka’s mistake was decisive and condemned Napoli to elimination.
The game decided on penalty shootouts. It is Cremonese to cause the upset and grabbed this valuable away victory.
