Lazio making it to the Coppa Italia Final!!!   It’s an incredible victory for Lazio defeating Napoli in the Semifinal at the San Paolo Stadium.   A blow for Napoli who were favorites to win the match.   There were 8 precedents in Coppa Italia between Napoli and Lazio at the San Paolo Stadium: Napoli 4 wins, Lazio 3 wins, and 1 draw.     The Coppa Italia Final will be Juventus vs Lazio at the Olimpico Stadium on June 7.

Lazio just living a great moment while Napoli are living a nightmare now out of the Coppa Italia while losing points also in the Serie A.     The Semifinal first leg ended 1-1, and the total aggregate is  Lazio 2 – 1 Napoli.

First half ending 0-0.   The action to add fresh energy …  In the 67th minute Lazio substituting Antonio Candreva with Senad Lulic.    A minute later, Napoli substituting forward Dries Mertens with  midfielder Jonathan De Guzman

Nothing seemed to work for Napoli despite Coach Rafael Benitez substituting forward Manolo Gabbiadini in the 73rd minute bringing fresh Jose Maria Callejon to pull the team… yet, it did not work.

The goal arriving in the 79th minute with Senad Lulic defeating Napoli goalkeeper Mariano Andujar after the assist by Felipe Anderson.    Obvioulsy, the happiest now would be Lazio coach Stefano Pioli after his good move seeing his sub Lulic resolving the match to grab the victory.   Napoli players protesting arguing  Lazio forward  Miroslav Klose was offside when  the action started, yet, Referee  Daniele Orsato considered the goal valid.

 

The goal of the victory with historical meaning to see Lulic sending Lazio to the Coppa Italia Final.

 

At the end of the match Napoli fans upset and contesting coach Rafael Benitez while the call for party  was already made in Rome for Lazio fans to gather and celebrate.
