Lecce stopped Juventus and the Serie A Week 9 game ended with a 1-1 draw on Saturday 26 October 2019 at the Stadio Via del Mare in Lecce, Italy. It’s the match of the penalties because both teams scored with a penalty each. It’s a step back for Juventus failing to win the away game. It is the second draw for Juventus while for Lecce is the sixth draw.
Fans could argue that they missed to see Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo who was not called up for this game. Although Juventus had 71% ball possession and Lecce only 21%, the result did not show that dominion.
Referee Valeri giving a penalty to Juventus conceded Lecce Jacopo Petriccione after a foul on midfielder Miralem Pjanic in the penalty area. In the 50th minute, there it is Argentinean forward Paulo Dybala to give Juventus the lead after converting the penalty defeating Lecce goalkeeper with a left footed sot in the bottom right corner.
