Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Sampdoria, 20th position with 2 points and a negative goal difference of -12
Bologna, 17h position with 6 points and a negative goal difference of -6

Sampdoria new Coach Dejan Stanković ended the Serie A Week 9 game against Bologna with a draw on Saturday 8 October 2022 at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium in Bologna, Italy.  Sampdoria reached 3 points and are in the last position of the Standing. It is the worst start ever for the Ligurians in a Serie A season after the first eight games.   Sampdoria team is the one that has lost the most games in 2022 in the five major European leagues (19 defeats out of 27 matches).  Simply put, the first point of management for both Thiago Motta and Stankovic. The Bologna coach interrupts the streak of two defeats since his arrival and rises to 7 points.

Bologna opened the score in the 32nd minute. Nicolás Domínguez defeated Sampdoria goalkeeper Emil Audero with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner.

Sampdoria equalized for the 1-1 in the 72nd minute. Filip Djuricic defeated Bologna goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski with a headed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Mehdi Léris.

✅  Stats before the game. Bologna are unbeaten in 13 home games against Sampdoria in Serie A (8W, 5D).   Sampdoria  last win at Dall’Ara in the league dates back to November 2, 2003 (0-1 thanks to a goal by Cristiano Doni) with Walter Newbie on the bench. Bologna have lost their last two league games without scoring any goals: the last time they recorded three straight defeats without a goal in Serie A was in the period between May and September 2011. Thiago Motta has lost both of his first two games at the helm of Bologna in the league: the only coach to have lost all his first three games with the rossoblù in Serie A in the era of three points to win was Delio Rossi in August and September 2015.  Sampdoria have lost their last four league matches: the last time they recorded at least five consecutive defeats in Serie A dates back to the period between September and November 2012 (seven in that case, with Ciro Ferrara on the bench).
