Lecce and Sassuolo failed to win the Serie A Week 8 game on Friday 6 October 2023 at the Via del Mare Stadium in Lecce, Italy.  The match ended with a draw sharing 1 point each.

Lecce equalized in the 48th minute.  Nikola Krstovic defeated Sassuolo goalkeeper Andrea Consigli from very close range with a left-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The headed assist is by Federico Baschirotto following a corner conceded by Martin Erlic.

✅   Stats before the game: After the 2-2 draw, on 3 November 2019 at Via del Mare, in the first ever match between the two teams in the top flight, Sassuolo won in each of the subsequent three matches with Lecce in Serie A – in particular last tournament both matches ended 1-0 for the neroverdi. Only against Perugia (8: 4D, 4L, between 1999 and 2004) has Lecce had more top-flight matches without ever having found victory than those against Sassuolo (4). Lecce have lost all of their last seven Serie A matches against teams from Emilia-Romagna, with an aggregate score of 9-18 – the Giallorossi’s last win against teams from this region in the top flight dates back to 15 February 2020 ( 2-1 v SPAL at Via Del Mare). After the 11 points gained in the first five matchdays, Lecce lost without scoring a goal in the last two matches against Juventus and Napoli: the Giallorossi have not gone for at least three Serie A matches in a row without scoring a goal since the streak of five matches between February and April 2023. Sassuolo have not drawn in the league since May 26th against Sampdoria: since then in eight matches there have been five defeats and three victories; the neroverdi have not racked up at least nine games in a row in Serie A without a draw since October 2019 (streak of 10 with De Zerbi on the bench).
