Roma caused an upset and win the Serie A Week 8 game against Inter on Saturday 1 October 2022 at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium in Milan, Italy.  Roma with ex-Inter Coach Mourinho suspended for this game can only smile with this important away victory.  The last time Roma defeated Inter in Serie A dates back to February 26, 2017 (1-3 at the Meazza). Paulo Dybala and Chris Smalling light up the Roma party at San Siro. After the initial disadvantage signed by Federico Di Marco, Roma managed to react. Roma temporarily in third place in the standings. Inter collapse in their second consecutive defeat.

Inter opened the score in the 30th minute. Federico Dimarco defeated AS Roma goalkeeper Rui Patricio with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Nicolò Barella.

Roma equalized for the 1-1 in the 39th minute. Argentinean forward Paulo Dybala taking care of business defeating Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic with a left-footed shot to the top right corner. The assist is by Leonardo Spinazzola.  Way to go for Dybala who was rumored to transfer to Inter and instead Roma signed him!

Inter have remained undefeated in their last 10 matches against Roma in the league (4W, 6D), only between 1935 and 1941 did they put in a longer series of unbeaten matches against the Giallorossi (12 in that case).   Great balance in the last 17 matches between Inter and Roma at the Meazza in Serie A: 5 wins each and 7 draws – the Nerazzurri, however, remained unbeaten in the five most recent (2W, 3D).
