Empoli lost the Serie A Week 6 game defeated by Roma on Monday 12 September 2022 at the Carlo Castellani Stadium in Empoli, Italy. This is an important away victory for Roma grabbing all three points. Paulo Dybala gave the lead to Roma then the equalizer by Filippo Bandinelli. The winner goal was scored by Tammy Abraham. Sadly, Lorenzo Pellegrini celebrated his 200th appearance with Roma by failing to convert a penalty. Empoli ended with 10 players in the 87th minute with Akpa Akpro getting a red card.

AS Roma opened the score in the 17th minute. Argentinean forward Paulo Dybala defeated Empoli goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario with a left-footed shot to the top left corner. Mancini’s cross from the right, Luperto failed to deflect well, Dybala arrives first and puts his left behind Vicario with a great goal. Way to go.

Empoli equalized for the 1-1 in the 43rd minute just before ending the first half. It is Filippo Bandinelli to level defeating Roma goalkeeper Rui Patricio with a headed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Petar Stojanovic.

Roma took the lead in the 71st minute. The goal by English forward Tammy Abraham from very close range with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Paulo Dybala.

What a blow!!! Roma could increase the score in the 80th minute. Yet, Lorenzo Pellegrini failed to convert the penalty hitting the bar. The penalty was conceded by Liberato Cacace after a foul on Ibañez.
