Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Bologna, 13th position with 43 points and a negative goal difference of -12
Genoa, 19th position with 28 points and a negative goal difference of -32

Genoa, sadly, relegated to the Serie B, lost the Serie A Week 38 game against Bologna on Saturday 21 May 2022 at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium in Genoa, Italy.  Genoa playing their last home game and a sour defeat.  Previously, Genoa were unbeaten in their last seven Serie A meetings against Bologna (W4 D3), keeping a clean sheet in five of these games – among the teams currently in the competition, against no other side do they have a longer such current run (seven also against Empoli).

Genoa, therefore, end the season with 28 points. Bologna momentarily 12th with 46 points, +2 against Udinese who are committed tomorrow night in Salerno.

Bologna opened the score in the 66th minute. Musa Barrow defeated Genoa goalkeeper Adrian Semper with a right-footed shot to the center.
