Atalanta, 5th position with 66 points and a positive goal difference of +28

Atalanta won the Serie A Week 38 game against Torino on Sunday 26 May 2024 at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo, Italy.   Atalanta are celebrating winning their First Europa League Final too.  Atalanta has now remained unbeaten in seven of the last 9 matches against Torino in Serie A (6W, 2D), however losing the most recent one on 4 December (0-3). Atalanta will now have to face the last league match (the recovery against Fiorentina) which in case of victory would be worth third place. Torino, on the other hand, officially closes ninth in the standings ahead of Napoli. Now the Granata team will have to cheer on Fiorentina in the Conference League final to qualify for the next UECL.

Atalanta Coach Gian Piero Gasperini received an award before the game  as “Coach of the Month for May”

Atalanta took the lead in the 26th minute. Gianluca Scamacca defeated Torino goalkeeper Luca Gemello with a right-footed shot to the top right corner. The assist is by Charles De Ketelaere.

The Europa League hero!!! Ademola Lookman scored in the 44th minute with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner. It seems Lookman is still motivated after scoring a hat-trick in the Europa League Final.

Atalanta are humiliating Torino. In the 71st minute, Mario Pašalić converted a penalty with a right-footed shot to the bottom right corner. The penalty was conceded by Adrien Tameze after a foul in the on Ademola Lookman.

✅   Stats before the game: Torino have won only one of their last seven away games against Atalanta in Serie A (3D, 3L): 3-2 on 1 September 2019; 29 goals were scored between the two teams in the period (4.1 on average per match). Atalanta have won their last five league matches, the last time they achieved multiple wins in a row in Serie A dates back to the period between November and December 2021 (six). Atalanta have gained 38 points in matches at the Gewiss Stadium in this championship and in the event of success against Torino they would rise to 41 – in this case, only in 1947/48 (48) would they have done better in home matches in a season of Serie A, always considering three points for a victory.
Torino have kept 18 clean sheets in this league season, only in 1976/77 (19 with Luigi Radice as manager) have they recorded more clean sheets in a single season in their Serie A history.
