Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
AC Milan, 4th position with 64 points and a positive goal difference of +18
Juventus, 7th position with 59 points and a positive goal difference of +23

Juventus lost their last home game while AC Milan won the Serie A Week 37 game on Sunday 28 May 2023 at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, Italy. Milan obtained the second consecutive victory after the one against Sampdoria and arithmetically qualified for the next Champions League with one match before the end of the championship. Pioli’s team can still finish third, but to overcome Inter they will have to win against Verona on the last day and hope that the Nerazzurri lose on the Turin field.

A second defeat in a row, however, for Juventus, who thus remain in seventh place in the standings, one point behind Roma in sixth and two behind Atalanta in fifth. To get to the Europa League, the bianconeri will have to win away against Udinese and hope for missteps by the Giallorossi with Spezia and the Bergamo players with Monza.

Milan have won both seasonal matches against Juventus in Serie A for the third time in the last 50 years, after 1990/91 and 2009/10. Olivier Giroud has scored 12 goals in a single season in Europe’s big five for the first time since 2016/17 (always 12, with Arsenal).

AC Milan opened the score in the 40th minute. Forward Olivier Giroud defeated Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny with a headed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Davide Calabria.

Stats before the game: After the 2-0 success in the first leg, Milan could win both seasonal matches against Juventus in Serie A for the third time in the last 50 years, after 2009/10 and 1990/91.   Milan have kept clean sheets in their last two matches against Juventus in the league; only once in their Serie A history have the Rossoneri recorded a longer streak of consecutive clean sheets against the Bianconeri: four between 1988 and 1989. Juventus’ last success against Milan in the league dates back to 6 January 2021 (3-1 at the Meazza with Andrea Pirlo as coach); since then, the Rossoneri have gone unbeaten in their next four Serie A games (W2, D2) – the last time the Milanese went on a longer streak of unbeaten matches against the Bianconeri in the tournament was between 1990 and 1992 (five). After winning all of their first nine games at the Allianz Stadium against Milan in the league, Juventus have picked up just one point in their last two home games against the Rossoneri in Serie A; it is from the period between 2004 and 2006 that the bianconeri have not recorded any more internal matches without any success against Milan in the tournament (three in that case at the Delle Alpi).

👉Lineup JUVENTUS (3-4-3): Szczęsny; Gatti, Bremer, Danilo; Cuadrado, Locatelli, Rabiot, Kostić; Di María, Kean, Chiesa.

👉Lineup AC MILAN (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Thiaw, Tomori, Hernández; Tonali, Krunić; Messias, Díaz, Leão; Giroud.
