Hellas Verona and Torino are saved to remain in Serie A next season.  Torino caused an  upset and win the Serie A Week 37 game defeating Verona on Saturday 14 May 2022 at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi Stadium in Verona, Italy.    In the next round of the championship, the last one, Verona will travel to Rome to face Lazio, while Torino will host AS Roma.

Torino opened the score in the 20th minute. Josip Brekalo defeated Hellas Verona goalkeeper Lorenzo Montipò with a right-footed shot to the top right corner. The assist is by Mërgim Vojvoda.

✅ Stats before the game. Verona and Torino have drawn seven of their last nine Serie A meetings (one win for each side). Following their 1-0 win in the reverse match, Torino could win both matches against Verona in a single Serie A season for a third time, after 2001/02 and 1969/70. Verona are unbeaten in their last four home league games against Torino (W1 D3). Torino had won each of their previous five away games against them in Serie A.

Torino are unbeaten in their last four away league games (W2 D2): the last time the Granata went five successive away league matches without defeat was back in May 2019 (seven in that case).
