A crackling second forty-five minutes: Cagliari starts again strongly and manages to equalize in the 64th minute with captain Deiola, who did well to get in on Prati’s cross and put past Terracciano. This is the fourth time (out of four) that Cagliari has managed to save itself from being newly promoted to Serie A in the three points for a win era, after 1998/99, 2004/05, 2016/17. Furthermore, if they managed to get the three points against Fiorentina, Cagliari would close this Serie A championship with 39 points, at least two more than those achieved in the previous two seasons in the top flight (30 in 2021/22 and 37 in 2020/21).
