Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Lazio, 4th position with 65 points and a  positive goal difference of +26
Udinese, 12th position with 46 points and a positive goal difference of +2

Lazio win the Serie A Week 36 game on Sunday 21 May 2023 at the Dacia Arena in Udine, Italy. The victory help Lazio to remain in the top 4 positions. After a first half with few emotions, in the second half the biancocelesti immediately went close to scoring with Immobile but Silvestri saved the result. Ciro Immobile made no mistake a few minutes later when he scored the penalty awarded by Referee Pairetto for a foul by Masina. Udinese’s reaction is too weak, which never really scares Provedel, three very important points for Maurizio Sarri’s men. Lazio are the only big names to win against Udinese, waiting for Juventus to face the Friulians on the final day

Udinese have won just one of their last 16 Serie A matches against Lazio (D5 L10) and in particular they have drawn all three most recently: these two teams have never recorded more consecutive draws in the competition.

Lazio took the lead in the 61st minute. Forward Ciro Immobile converted a penalty with a right-footed shot to the bottom right corner. The penalty is conceded by Adam Masina.

✅    Stats before the game:  After three consecutive defeats, Lazio have remained unbeaten in all of their most recent nine away matches against Udinese in Serie A (W6, D3): the last time the Biancocelesti played more away matches in a row against the Friulians without losing in top division was between 1989 and 2001 (10). Udinese have failed to find a goal in 11 of their last 16 Serie A matches against Lazio: against no other opponent they have so many games without goals scored in the competition from 2015 onwards. Lazio have lost their last two league away games, after having recorded just two defeats in the previous 18 (W11, D5); the last time the biancocelesti found multiple consecutive away knockouts in Serie A was in May 2021, with Simone Inzaghi on the bench. Udinese are unbeaten in eight consecutive home matches in Serie A (W3 D5) and the last time they played multiple home games in a row without losing in a single season was in 2012/13 (18). Lazio can become the fourth team in the three points for a win era to record at least 20 seasonal clean sheets in Serie A, after Roma (in 2003/04 and 2013/14), Milan (in 2010/11) and Juventus (in 2011/12, in 2013/14, in 2015/16 and in 2017/18, while in the current tournament it is 19); in the entire history of the competition, only two teams have crossed this milestone without finishing the tournament in the top two positions in the standings: Modena 1947/48 (5th) and Juventus 1965/66 (5th).
