Genoa battling for salvation win the Serie A Week 36 game defeating Juventus on Friday 6 May 2022 at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium in Genoa, Italy.   Captain Domenico Criscito gave a precious gift to the fans believing in their dream to remain in Serie A next season.  Criscito converted a penalty in the 96th minute to claim the victory. Surely, Genoa wins a crazy match at the last minute, securing three vitally important points in terms of salvation. Thanks to this success with goals by Guðmundsson and Criscito on a penalty, Genoa rise to 28 points and temporarily hook Cagliari. Juventus threw away the initial advantage signed by Paulo Dybala and devoured a few moments before the penalty assigned to Genoa when the 2-1 goal with Kean left empty.

In the next round of the championship, Juventus will play at home against Lazio while Genoa will be involved in an away match against Napoli.

Juventus already qualified for the Champions League next season and look to end the season in the 3rd place.  Juventus have won all of their last five Serie A matches against Genoa and could record more successes in a row against Genoa in the competition for the first time since seven consecutive victories between 1957 and 1960.  Genoa and Juventus have not drawn at Ferraris in Serie A since 11 March 2012 (0-0 between Pasquale Marino and Antonio Conte) – since then three rossoblu and six bianconeri wins (including the most recent two).

Juventus opened the score in the 48th minute. Forward Paulo Dybala defeated Genoa goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu with a right-footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Moise Kean.

Genoa reacted and equalized for the 1-1 in the 86th minute. The goal by Albert Gudmundsson defeated Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny with a right-footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Nadiem Amiri.

What a thriller!!! Genoa claimed the victory in the 96th minute. Domenico Criscito did not disappoint the fans and converted a penalty with a left-footed shot. The penalty is conceded by Mattia De Sciglio.
