Salernitana with a ray of hope after winning the Serie A Week 33 game against Sampdoria on Saturday 16 April 2022 at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium in Genoa, Italy. Salernitana with their first win since January 9 (2-1 against Hellas Verona) and rises to -9 from the safety zone.  Sampdoria, on the other hand, loses for the 11th time in the last 14 days (negative record among the top 5 European championships) and remains sixteenth at 29.  The advantage over the red zone is only 7 points.

Sampdoria shortened the distance in the 32nd minute for the 1-2. Forward Francesco Caputo defeated Salernitana goalkeeper Luigi Sepe with a right-footed shot to the center.
