Juventus failed to recover the 2nd position after ending the Serie A Week 29 game against Genoa with a draw on Sunday 17 March 2024 at the Allianz Arena in Turin, Italy.  Juve with two posts, but also many technical errors held Juventus back, forcing them to a second consecutive draw after the one against Atalanta. Dušan Vlahović sent off for protests at the end of the match. However, Genoa’s performance in this match was excellent, snatching yet another golden point from a “big” Serie A team. Genoa are coming off two defeats in a row in Serie A and have never suffered three knockouts in a row in this championship; more generally, Genoa lost three of the last five matches (1W, 1N), the same defeats suffered in the previous 14 matchdays (5W, 6N).

Stats before the game: Genoa have remained unbeaten in their last two matches against Juventus in Serie A (1W, 1D) and have not recorded a longer unbeaten run against the Old Lady since a period between February 1990 and October 1991 (a run of four in that case ). The first leg between Juventus and Genoa ended 1-1 and only twice have these two teams drawn both seasonal matches in Serie A: in 1936/37 (under the guidance of Virginio Rosetta and Hermann Felsner respectively) and in 2011/ 12 (with Antonio Conte and Alberto Malesani first and Pasquale Marino then on the benches). Juventus are unbeaten in 19 home games in a row against Genoa in Serie A (15W, 4D) and in this period they have conceded on average only 0.6 goals per game, keeping 10 clean sheets, including the most recent match (2- 0, on December 5, 2021). In the last seven matchdays (since the start of the 22nd round), Juventus has collected six points (1W, 3D, 3L) and only four teams have had a lower performance; furthermore, the Bianconeri have conceded two goals in each of their last four matches and have not reached five since March 1962.
