AC Milan win the Serie A Week 27 game on Friday 1 March 2024 at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium in Rome, Italy. A victory valid for access to the next editions of the Champions League and Europa League. Milan extends the gap on their pursuers for qualification for the next Champions League and moves to -1 behind Juventus, who will play at Maradona in Naples on Sunday. Lazio, however, remains ninth and risks moving further away from the European zone.

The match took a turning point in the 57th minute when Pellegrini received the second yellow card of his match and is sent off with a red card. From this point Milan takes control of the game, crushing Lazio in their own half of the pitch, but the Biancocelesti managed to start on the counterattack several times and putting the Rossoneri in great difficulty.  The game ended with 3 red cards at the end of the match with a brawl. All three red cards for Lazio players.

AC Milan opened the score in the 88th minute. Noah Okafor defeated Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel with a right-footed shot to the center.

✅   Stats before the game: Lazio have lost their last two matches against Milan in Serie A, without ever scoring; in the past it has already happened six times that the biancocelesti lost at least three games in a row against the rossoneri (the most recent between 2008 and 2009), but never without a goal for three defeats in a row in the competition. Lazio and Milan have not drawn any of the last 10 matches in Serie A: three victories for the Biancocelesti and seven for the Rossoneri in the partial, who have triumphed in four of the last five meetings – the last draw dates back to 25 November 2018, at the Olimpico ( 1-1), with the teams led respectively by Simone Inzaghi and Gennaro Gattuso. Lazio won 4-0 in their last home match against Milan in Serie A (24 January 2023) and have not beaten the Devil in two home games in a row under the guidance of the same coach since the period between 1973 and 1976 – four consecutive successes at the Olimpico with Tommaso Maestrelli as coach. Lazio have lost three of their last five Serie A games (W2), the same defeats they suffered in their previous 14 league games (W8, D3); returning from the defeat on the last day (1-2 vs Fiorentina), in this tournament the Romans have already suffered two defeats in a row once – in the first two days, against Lecce and Genoa in August.
Milan have failed to win three of their last five Serie A matches (2D, 1L), after a series of four straight victories in the league; furthermore, after the draw in the last round (1-1 vs Atalanta), the Rossoneri could have two matches in a row for the first time since last May – the first of those two draws was at the Olimpico vs Roma.

👉 Lineup LAZIO (4-3-3): Provedel; Marušić, Gila, Romagnoli, Pellegrini; Guendouzi, Vecino, L. Alberto; F. Anderson, Castellanos, Zaccagni.

👉 Lineup AC MILAN (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Florenzi, Kjær, Gabbia, Hernández; Adli, Bennacer; Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek, Leão; Giroud.
