Hellas Verona won the Serie A Week 27 against Sassuolo on Sunday 3 March 2024 at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi Stadium in Verona, Italy. Tough debut for Sassuolo Coach Mister Ballardini, his first on the black-green bench, with a defeat. The first goal in Serie A for Karol Swiderski and it is a very heavy goal, because not only gave the victory to Hellas Verona on 23 points, but it also allows them to put three points between themselves and Sassuolo (still stuck on 20), as well as catch up with Frosinone.

In the next round, Hellas Verona will be involved in another lunch match against Lecce scheduled for Sunday 10 March 2024. Sassuolo will instead find their friendly fans at the Mapei Stadium, hosting Frosinone on Saturday 9 March.

Verona have lost two of the three matches (1W) played in this championship against teams who started the day in the last four positions in the standings and one of the two defeats came against Sassuolo in the first leg (1-3). Sassuolo is coming off five consecutive away defeats in Serie A, in which they conceded 12 goals and scored only two; the neroverdi have never recorded six knockouts in a row away from home in their history in the top flight.
