Spezia won the Serie A Week 26 game defeating Inter on Friday 13 March 2023 at the Alberto Picco Stadium in Spezia, Italy. Inter fell on the Spezia field in anticipation of the 26th day of Serie A and with the eighth defeat in the championship. Spezia gets the third victory at the Peak of its championship, the first since the derby with Sampdoria on 17 September. The race for salvation is still very open, there is a long way to go until the end of the season. However, Spezia seeming closer to remain in Serie A next season.

The sour note is for the Argentinean forward Lautaro Martínez failing to convert a penalty in the 14th minute. In fact, Lautaro missed five penalties in Serie A, out of fourteen attempts, of which three in the last four kicked, a sign of a bad relationship between the world champion and the eleven meters. The happiest would be Spezia goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski after saving Martinez’ penalty.

Spezia opened the score in the 55th minute. Forward Daniel Maldini defeated Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by MBala Nzola.

MBala Nzola scored the winner goal for Spezia in the 87th minute. Nzola converted a penalty with a left-footed shot to the bottom right corner. The penalty is conceded by Denzel Dumfries after a foul on Viktor Kovalenko.
