The first and last place team Salernitana vs AC Milan ending the Serie A Week 26 game with a draw on Saturday 19 February 2022 at the Arechi Stadium in Salerno, Italy.  Salernitana Coach Davide Nicola made his debut with the team after the sacking of Coach Stefano Colantuono.  AC Milan wasted too many chances and the lack of concentration of goalkeeper Mike Maignan was a negative point for Milan.  This draw is more like a win for Salernitana dreaming with salvation.

Salernitana equalized for the 1-1 in the 29th minute. Federico Bonazzoli defeated AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan with a left-footed shot to the bottom left corner.

✅   Salernitana have won only one of the five Serie A matches against Milan (a 4-3 dated June 1948), four Rossoneri successes complete the set.  Only four of Salernitana’s 13 points in this league have come against opponents currently in the top half of the table, while Milan have earned 31 points against teams in the lower half – only Napoli (34) have done better so far; more generally, all of the last nine matches between first and last in the standings at the start of the day ended with a victory for the leaders, the last time that did not happen was in May 2016 (Verona 2-1 Juventus).  Salernitana scored five points in five Serie A matches in 2022 (1W, 2D, 2L), an average of one per game, more than double the average of 0.4 recorded in the first 18 games of this championship.
