Napoli rushing to climb to the top 6 positions ended the Serie A Week 25 game against Genoa with a draw on Saturday 17 February 2024 at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in Naples, Italy.  Napoli managed to grab one point after the late equalizer goal in the 90th minute by Cyril Ngonge. Napoli are six points away from fourth place, with the possibility for Atalanta and Bologna, however, to move to +9, in the event of victories against Sassuolo and Lazio respectively. Fifth consecutive useful result away from home, however, for Genoa,they have 30 points, with ten points ahead of the relegation zone, awaiting the Verona match, which will soon be playing against Juventus.

Surprise, surprise. Genoa silenced the Maradona Stadium in the 53rd minute with the leading goal. Morten Frendrup defeated Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret with a left footed shot to the top right corner conceded by Matteo Politano.

Napoli equalized in the 90th minute. Cyril Ngonge defeated Genoa goalkeeper with a left-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The headed assist is by Giovanni Di Lorenzo.

✅   Stats before the game: After the 2-2 draw in the first leg, Napoli and Genoa could draw both matches in a single Serie A season for the first time since 1993/94, in which case Marcello Lippi was in charge of the Neapolitans while on the Grifone bench there was Claudio Maselli on the first leg and Franco Scoglio on the return. Genoa lost their last championship match against Atalanta, interrupting a streak of eight games without defeat (3W, 5D) – in this Serie A only once have the Ligurians lost two games in a row: in October against Milan and Atalanta.
