Lazio 0 – 0 Napoli
.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Lazio, 6th position with 33 points and a positive goal difference of +4
Napoli, 9th position with 31 points and a positive goal difference of +5
The pressure increased for Napoli who are out of the European zone. Lazio and Napoli ended the Serie A Week 22 game with a goalless draw on Sunday 28 January 2024 at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium in Rome, Italy. One point for each team who fail to get closer to the fourth place occupied by Atalanta. Lazio interrupt their streak of four consecutive victories in the league and move within two points of the Champions League zone, while Mazzarri’s team catches up with Roma on 32 points, but remains in ninth place in the standings.
Both teams have to overcome the defeats in the Italian Super Cup and diving back into the race to qualify for the Champions League. Lazio have won their last four league matches, the Biancocelesti have never achieved five successes in a row in Serie A with Maurizio Sarri as coach – the last time they won five consecutive matches in the tournament dates back to the period between March and April 2021, with Simone Inzaghi at the helm.
✅ Stats before the game: Lazio is the team against which Napoli has won the highest number of matches in its history in Serie A: 54 out of 135 matches, complete with 41 draws and 40 victories for the Biancocelesti. \Lazio have won both of the last two matches against Napoli in the league, the last time the Biancocelesti achieved consecutive successes against the Neapolitans in Serie A dates back to the period between May 1993 and October 1994 (four in that case). Not even a draw in the last 14 matches between Lazio and Napoli in Serie A: four Lazio victories and 10 Neapolitan victories – the last “X” sign between these two teams in the tournament dates back to 5 November 2016 (1-1 in that case with goals from Hamsík and Keita Baldé). Napoli have won eight of their last 10 away matches against Lazio in Serie A (2P), scoring 20 goals in the period (exactly two on average per match) – against no other team have the Neapolitans won more away matches in the period (since 2013/14 ).
