Cagliari lost the Serie A Week 22 game against Torino also with a sad heart after the passing of icon legend Gigi Riva. There was a minute of silence before the game to commemorate Gigi Riva.   Cagliari failed to continue the positive internal streak (4W, 2D in the last six home games) to build their salvation;  Torino, without victories in five away games, are looking for a success to get into the wake of the Europe zone. Nicolas Viola’s goal was not enough. Torino regained away success thanks to goals from Zapata and Samuele Ricci in the first half. VAR disallows Pellegri’s goal in added time.

Torino opened the score in the 23r minute. Duván Zapata defeated Cagliari goalkeeper Simone Scuffet with a right footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Raoul Bellanova.

Probelems for Cagliari conceding another goal before ending the first half. In the 45+3′ minute, the goal by Samuele Ricci with a right-footed shot to the center. The assist is by Valentino Lazaro.

Cagliari shortened the distance in the 77th minute. Nicolas Viola defeated Torio goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic with a left footed shot to the top left corner. The assist is by Gabriele Zappa.

Stats before the game: Cagliari have lost only one of their last nine Serie A matches against Torino (W3, D5), after picking up just one point in the previous seven matches against the Granata; after the 0-0 on matchday 1, the two teams could draw both matches of the season in the league for the first time since 2018/19 – even in that case the first leg match ended goalless. Torino have won four of the last seven away matches against Cagliari in Serie A (2D, 1L), the same number of away successes obtained by the Granata in all the previous 28 matches on the Sardinian pitch in the top flight (11D, 13L). Cagliari are unbeaten in six home games in Serie A (4W, 2D), after obtaining a point in the first four home matches in this tournament; under the same manager, they have not done better in the top flight since the first seven home games (W2, D5) of 2018/19, under Rolando Maran.  Torino have never repeated the same result twice in a row in their last 10 Serie A matches (4W, 4D, 2L), drawing the most recent one (0-0 vs Genoa); in this part, however, the granata kept five clean sheets, conceding only six goals. Cagliari has obtained 83% of the points in this Serie A in home matches (15 out of 18 total), only Frosinone (90%: 20/22) has collected more at home in percentage terms in the current tournament.

👉 Lineup Cagliari (3-5-1-1): Scuffet; Wieteska, Dossena, Hatzidiakos; Zappa, Sulemana, Makoumbou, Jankto, Azzi; Nandez; Petagna.

👉 Lineup Torino (3-4-1-2): Milinkovic Savic; Tameze, Buongiorno, Rodriguez; Bellanova, Ricci, Linetty, Lazaro; Vlasic; Sanabria, Zapata.
