Lecce returning to the Serie A after their promotion from Serie B.  Lecce  failed to win the  Serie A Week 1 game defeated by Inter on Saturday 13 August 2022 at the Via del Mare Stadium in Lecce, Italy.  Inter grabbed this important away victory in the agonizing 95th minute with the goal by Denzel Dumfries.

In the next round, Lecce will play the away match against Sassuolo, Inter will play at home against Spezia.

Inter with a mega fast goal in the 2nd minute. It is a special goal and a joy for Inter fans because it is forward Romelu Lukaku to score!   Lukaku greeting his fans again after returning to Inter. Lukaku defeated Lecce goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone with a headed shot from very close range to the high center. The headed assist is by Matteo Darmian.

Lecce equalized for the 1-1 in the 48th minute. It is Assan Ceesay to defeat Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic with a left footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Federico Di Francesco.

Denzel Dumfries making a gift to Inter fans by scoring the winner goal in the 95th minute to grab the victory.
