✅ Hellas Verona won the playoff to remain in Serie A next season after defeating Spezia on Sunday 11 June 2023.   Surely, an exciting salvation play-off, full of emotions: the goals all arrive in the first half, with Faraoni who gives his team the lead, replies Ampadu, brace from Ngonge before the break.  The final with Spezia trying in every way but colliding against a superb goalkeeper Lorenzo Montipó, in the 93rd minute Ampadu’s crossbar. In the second half Spezia attacks, in the 68th minute the episode that could change, and the match changes: Shomurodov lobs past Montipó, Faraoni avoids the goal with a flick of his hand. Red and penalty for Spezia, with the goalkeeper, however rejecting Nzola’s weak conclusion.

The sad news is for Spezia being relegated to the Serie B next season.

Hellas Verona opened the score in the 5th minute. Marco Faraoni defeated Spezia goalkeeper Bartłomiej Drągowski with a right-footed shot to the top right corner. The assist is by Darko Lazovic.
