It’s just a historic game!  This was a game to define the top scorer of the Serie A between Hellas Verona forward Luca Toni who had 21 goals before the game and Juventus forward Carlos Tevez who had 20 goals.  Well, and say no more… a historic match for Luca Toni because at his 38 years old he scores another goal to become the absolute top scorer with a total of 22 goals.     Now depends on what Inter forward Mauro Icardi does tomorrow against Empoli as he has 20 goals.

Hellas Verona fans at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi Stadium and players were just totally supporting Luca encouraging all his move.  The objective was to help Luca to become the top scorer and it seems the party for the fans just started….

Imagine..  here is the situation.   A cold shower for Hellas Verona when Juventus open the score in the 42nd minute.  It is midfielder Roberto Pereyra to defeat Hellas Verona goalkeeper Rafael with a beautiful long range right footed shot in the top right corner that he could only observed the missile.   The assist is by midfielder Paul Pogba.  Immediate celebration among Juventus players.

The ray of hope changing in the 48th minute with a tremendous roaring chant saying “Luca, Luca, Luca,”  Mamma mia.. I have goosebumps just watching the moment…  In the 48th minute, there he is the eternal young forward “now 38 years young” equalizing the score following a fast break while not losing the direction of the ball defeating Juventus goalkeeper Gigi Buffon with a left footed shot in the bottom left corner.!   Toni celebrating with his trademark moving his hands around his ear as finding the signal to hear clearly the ovation of the fans!   The assist is by midfielder Emil Hallfresson.

Juventus taking the lead again in the 57th minute.  This time is “Re Leone” forward Fernando Llorente to defeat Verona goalkeeper Rafael with a right footed shot in the center!   The assist is by midfielder Simone Padoin.   It’s the 7th goal of the season by Llorente.

Now, the U N T H I N K A B L E…. In the 88th minute, forward Carlos Tevez had the chance not only to score, but to keep up the race for the top scorer alive when Referee Di Bello gives a penalty to Juventus conceded by Hellas Verona defender  Rafael Márquez  who gets a  yellow card after the foul on Llorente inside the penalty area.   A one-on-one… and pressure high for goalkeeper Rafael and Tevez!   And ba ba boom!   Tevez failed to convert the penalty when Rafael helped by all the fans saved the right footed shot in the bottom right corner.   Rafael with a vivacious celebration just like “Luca Toni’s trademark” and running towards him to celebrate as saying I saved it for you buddy. In the meantime, a close up showing the somber look of Tevez who could not believe his luck and neither do I.

Goalkeeper saving the penalty…..

Referee Di Bello giving a red card to Juventus midfielder Simone Pepe in the 92nd minute after a foul on Hellas Verona midfielder Mattia Valoti.

Game over and the party for Luca Toni.  In the 93rd minute, there it is Hellas Verona equalizing the score in the agonizing minutes.  It is forward Juanito Gomez to defeat goalkeeper Buffon with a headed shot in the bottom right corner.  The assist is by  Rafael Márquez.

Game over…. and both teams can celebrate despite this draw.
