A painful defeat for Genoa not only losing the home game, but also losing the 3rd position.  It’s a redemption for AS Roma  after the elimination in Champions League.   The Roman gladiators now shortening the distance with Juventus to a -1 point.  Juventus having 36 points after their 1-1 draw with Sampdoria.

Things complicating for Genoa because Referee Banti giving a penalty to AS Roma and  a red card to goalkeeper Mattia Perin in the 29th minute conceding the penalty after a foul on AS Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan.  Genoa coach Gian Piero Gasperini forced to make his first substitution bringing goalkeeper Eugenio Lamana in place of forward Iago Falque.

Incredible so, goalkeeper Lamana not even having enough time to warm up and there he goes!   Lamana saving the penalty.  Nothing to do for Roma forward Adem Ljajic seeing his right footed shot saved in the bottom right corner.   Genoa fans raising their support.

A moment of redemption for Nainggolan.   Roma opening the score in the 40th minute with Nainggolan defeating Genoa goalkeeper Lamana with a right footed shot in the bottom right corner.  The assist is by defender Maicon.  It’s the 3rd goal this season for Nainggolan.

Agonizing ending for Genoa scoring a goal in the 90th minute and is ruled out for offside.
