Empoli battling to climb the Serie A Table scoring their first goals in 3 games and down in the 20th position. Cesena and Empoli both promoted to Serie A this season.
Cesena opening the score in the 30th minute in a crazy way! Yep, the first attempt starting with the assist by Franco Brienza with a right footed cross towards forward Guido Marilungo for the headed shot from close range forcing Empoli goalkeeper Luigi Sepe to save. However, the ball rebounds and there it was ready again Marilungo for the headed shot in the high center!
Two minutes after the first goal and there it is Cesena commanding the game! The goal in the 32nd minute, the assist by defender Massimo Volta to forward Gregoire Defrel defeating Empoli goalkeeper Sepe with a left footed shot in the bottom left corner. Fans are just raising their chants to encourage the team.
In the 53rd minute, Referee Gavillucci grants a penalty to Empoli conceded by Cesena defender Stefano Lucchini after a foul on Empoli midfielder Simone Verdi. Taking the penalty spot is forward Francesco Tavano converting the penalty with a right footed shot in the bottom right corner. This is the first goal for Empoli in this season.
Empoli equalizing the score in the 72nd minute following a corner conceded by Cesena goalkeeper Nicola Leali. It is Empoli defender Daniele Rugani to score with a right footed shot to the bottom left corner.
