It’s a step back for the Roman gladiators. The match at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium ending with a 2-2 draw. It’s a golden point helping more Bologna who are struggling to survive while Roma failed to win the game to keep climbing towards the first position. We might argue it was a bad considering the weather condition with rain leaving the pitch in such a bad condition.
Making it a painful draw for Roma is to see the ex Mattia Destro scoring the equalizer goal for Bologna. Roma had it so close to claim the victory….. but bottom line they failed.
It is Bologna to open the score in the 14th minute following a corner conceded by AS Roma midfielder Alessandro Florenzi. It’s Bologna defender Adam Masina to defeat goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny with a left footed shot in the enter. The assist is by defender Luca Rossettini.
In the 52nd minute, Referee Rocchi giving a penalty to Roma conceded by Bologna forward Anthony Mounier after a handball in the penalty area. Roma gaining momentum when midfielder Miralem Pjanic converted the penalty defeating goalkeeper Antonio Mirante with a right footed shot in the bottom left corner.
Roma take the lead in the 72nd minute and again with a penalty! Bologna fans certainly not happy with Referee Rocchi granting this penalty. This time it is Bologna defender Luca Rossettini to concede the penalty following a foul on Roma forward Juan Iturbe. Taking the penalty spot is forward Edin Dzeko converting the penalty with a right footed shot int he bottom left corner.
Bologna crushing Roma’s dream to collect the victory. Referee Rocchi giving a penalty to Bologna in the 86th minute conceded by Roma defender Vasilis Torosidis after a foul on Bologna forward Emanuel Giaccherini. Here is the painful part for the Roman gladiators when it is precisely their ex-player forward Mattia Destro to convert the penalty with a right footed shot in the bottom right corner for the final 2-2 draw.
