An incredible victory for AC Milan dueling with 9 players against Bologna with 11 players in this Recovered Serie A Week 18.   It’s definitely a victory to boost the morale of the team to keep up the race for a spot in Champions League next season or, at least, the Europa League.

AC Milan are -17 points below Juventus with 57 points in the 1st position and -8 points below Napoli with 48 points in the 3rd position which is the spot to duel for the Champions League Playoff.

It’s a pity for Bologna wasting the chance to grab this home victory having a +2 players advantage.   Referee Doveri gave the first red card to AC Milan defender Gabriel Paletta in the 36th minute after a foul on Bologna midfielder Blerim Dzemaili.     Paletta had received 2 yellow cards which resulted in the red card.    The second red card for Milan arriving in the 56th minute.  Referee Doveri gave a second yellow card to Juraj Kucka leaving the Rossoneri with 9 players.

AC Milan scoring the only goal of the match in the 89th minute and enough to claim the victory.   It is midfielder Mario Pasalic to defeat Bologna goalkeeper Da Costa with a left footed shot in the bottom left corner.  The assist is by forward Gerard Deulofeu.

Tough situation for Bologna because last week they were humiliated by Napoli  suffering a 7-1 defeat at the Dall’Ara Stadium.   AC Milan now gaining momentum after 3 consecutive defeats in the Serie A.

  • After this match, there are 69 precedents between Bologna vs AC Milan at the Dall’Ara Stadium in Serie A.   Stats showing Bologna with 25 wins, AC Milan with 24 wins, and 20 draws.
