The assist came from Alexis Saelemaekers, who floated a soft ball into the area from the right. Angeliño expertly struck it with the outside of his foot, guiding it past Meret and into the net.

Claudio Ranieri, who against Udinese became the 15th coach in Serie A history to reach the milestone of 200 wins (achieved a few hours later by Simone Inzaghi), also became the first coach in the history of the competition to lead a team for at least 10 matches after turning 73 years of age. In fact, none of the players fielded on the final day were born on the day of his first bench in the competition in September 1990.
