The Roman gladiators determined to be main contenders to win the Scudetto being only -4 points below Juventus in the first position with 42 points.   AS Roma closing 2016 with their 9th consecutive home victory keeping up the race for the Scudetto.

It’s Chievo Verona to open the score in the 37th minute.   Midfielder Jonathan de Guzmán defeating AS Roma goalkeeper Szczęsny with a headed shot in the  bottom right corner. The assist is by Mariano Izco with a cross.

The equalizer goal for Roma arrives in the 45th minute just before ending the first half.  It is forward Stephan El Shaarawy to level the situation with a right footed free kick shot.

A turnover!   Roma taking the lead thanks to forward Edin Dzeko defeating from close range goalkeeper Sorrentino with a  left footed shot in the bottom right corner.  It’s the 13th goal of the season by Dzeko.
