5 Atalanta 31 18 5 8 52:34 18 59

It’s a disappointing result for the Roman gladiators who were looking to win the home game to keep up the “almost impossible” way for the Scudetto.  Juventus  with 80 points is the sole leader of the Serie A having now a +8 points advantage over Roma.   Roma wasted the chance to claim all 3 points to keep the -6 points  ended with a 1-1 draw, hence, losing 2 precious points.    There are now only 6 more games to end the season.

Simply put, Roma should be disappointed because now they even risk losing the 2nd position if they lose next round game Pescara vs Roma on 24 April  and if Napoli defeat Sassuolo  on 23 April they will overtake the 2nd position.  That’s how important was to win  today, so, for Roma this draw is more a failure while for Atalanta is a golden point.

2 Roma Roma 72 32 23 3 6 70 27 43
3 Napoli Napoli 70 32 21 7 4 75 33 42

Atalanta silenced the Olimpico Stadium in the 22nd minute when they opened the score.  It is midfielder Jasmin Kurtic to score defeating Roma goalkeeper with a left footed shot in the bottom left corner. The assist is by defender Andrea Conti.

Roma equalizing for the 1-1 in the 50th minute. There he is… forward Edin Dzeko defeating from close range Atalanta goalkeeper with a right footed shot in the bottom right corner. The headed assist is by midfielder Mohamed Salah.
