AC Milan failing the test to win this home game at the San Siro Stadium to keep up the race neck-to-neck with AS Roma.   The objective was to win the match to climb to the 2nd position reaching 35 points. However, AC Milan ended the match with a goalless draw against Atalanta.

AC Milan remained this season in the 3rd position now with 33 points while AS Roma after losing the match against Juventus remained in the 2nd position with 35 points.  It means the gap for the Scudetto is increasing instead of “catching up.”   AC Milan is -9points below Juventus with 42 points and -2 points below AS Roma with 35 points. .

AC Milan had their chances to win, though, this time forward Gianluca Lapadula was not enough to secure a victory and neither Colombian forward Carlos Bacca who came as a substitute in the 82nd minute replacing Lapadula.

It’s a waste for AC Milan while for Atalanta gaining at least 1 point in San Siro is surely worth it.  Definitely, it is a tough situation now for AC Milan because if Napoli and Lazio with 31 points each win their respective games, they will overtake the 3rd position.

Here is  AC MILAN official starting lineup by coach Vincenzo Montella:

AC MILAN (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Abate, Paletta, Romagnoli, Antonelli; Kucka, Bertolacci, Pašalić; Suso, Lapadula, Bonaventura.
