Today’s Front Page Tutto Sport, Thursday 5 February 2026

👉Coppa Italia: Bonny and Diouf take Chivu to the semi-finals (2-1)
A poor performance from Torino
Inter’s three goals are enough

In Monza, Torino failed to take advantage of Inter’s extensive squad rotation (with Kamate and Cocchi from the Under 23 Serie C team playing on the wings). The reaction, however insufficient, produced a goal from Kulenovic and another disallowed for offside by Prati. Once again, Cairo’s team fails to get past the quarter-finals. But Baroni says: “I’m satisfied.” For Inter, the next opponent will be either Napoli or Como.

👉Del Piero blesses Spalletti’s Bianconeri: “Believe in yourselves!”
“Juve and Lucio worthy for the Scudetto.”

Alex’s message of encouragement: “Winning the championship? Why not? Now the team has a different mentality and attitude: they can win 4-5 games in a row, and then…” Ferrara: “Secure the coach.”
In Bergamo (21) against Atalanta, little squad rotation: the Italian Cup is a real objective.

👉Our interviews
Venesio
“Juve, you’re coming back.”

The banker, who served on the Juventus board for 9 years: “Comolli, Chiellini and Spalletti are convincing choices.”

👉Carnival
“You’ll see, Bakola”

The Sassuolo CEO: “He’s our new gem. Pedro Felipe can emulate Muharemovic, who is liked by Inter.”

👉Hazard
“Goals, wine, and… Yildiz.”

The former Real Madrid star: “White, red and rosé: three labels in Salento bearing my name. I see myself in Kenan.”

👉Go Sinner of Curling!
The mixed doubles pair of Constantini and Mosaner, reigning champions and undefeated for 22 matches, will make their debut challenging South Korea and Canada. “It’s incredibly hard work, nothing like chess.”

Stats BEFORE the game

Atalanta has faced Juventus in the Coppa Italia and has lost five out of their last six encounters (with one draw), including the last two finals: 1-2 in Reggio Emilia on May 19, 2021, and 0-1 in Rome on May 15, 2024.

However, Atalanta has only lost once in their last ten home matches against Juventus in the Coppa Italia (with four wins and five draws), having won the latest match 3-0 on January 30, 2019, during the quarter-finals. This was also the last time the Bianconeri played an away quarter-final in this competition.

In all competitions, Atalanta has secured victories in three of their last four home matches, maintaining a clean sheet in each (with one loss), matching the number of wins with clean sheets from their previous 24 home games (which included eight wins, nine draws, and seven losses).

Juventus stands out as the only team that has consistently advanced to at least the round of 16 in the last 19 seasons of the Coppa Italia (since 2007/08). Yet, in the quarter-finals, the Bianconeri have only been eliminated once in the last six attempts, the latest being against Empoli on February 26, 2025.

Recently, Juventus has suffered losses in their last two away matches in the Coppa Italia (against Inter in 2023 and Lazio in 2024, both during the semi-finals) and could face three consecutive away defeats in the competition for only the second time in their history, the first instance occurring between June and July 1972.

Stats BEFORE the game

Inter has triumphed in 12 of their last 13 official encounters with Torino (1 draw) – all in Serie A – winning the last seven in a row; the Nerazzurri have never managed to secure eight straight wins against the Granata in all competitions (since 1929/30), with a previous streak of seven occurring between 2002 and 2008.

Torino’s most recent win over Inter in an official match was over seven years ago, on January 27, 2019, in Serie A: a 1-0 victory thanks to a goal from Armando Izzo, while Walter Mazzarri was the coach at the Olimpico Grande Torino.

Inter and Torino are set to face each other again in a match outside of Serie A for the first time in 35 years, since January 23, 1991, in the Coppa Italia round of 16.  The Granata, under coach Emiliano Mondonico, knocked out the Nerazzurri, managed by Giovanni Trapattoni, in that round with a 1-0 home win in the second leg, after losing 2-1 away in the first leg.

This will mark the 16th encounter between Inter and Torino in the Coppa Italia: the Granata currently lead with eight victories to five, alongside two draws – only against Milan (10) have the Granata secured more wins in the tournament than against the Nerazzurri (eight, equal to their tally against Roma).

After suffering defeats in their first two home matches in the Coppa Italia against Torino (from 1939 to 1968), Inter has since won all five of their following home games against the Granata in the tournament, netting eight goals and allowing just one.

In the last six editions of the Coppa Italia (since 2019/20), Inter has reached the semi-finals five times; they only missed out on the penultimate stage in 2023/24, when Bologna eliminated them in the round of 16. Torino could advance to the Coppa Italia semi-finals for the first time since 1993/94; indeed, in the last four editions where they reached the quarter-finals, the Granata were eliminated at this stage (2022/23 against Fiorentina, 2019/20 against Milan, 2017/18 against Juventus, and 2008/09 against Lazio).
