Allegri on facing Pisa: “THEY’RE DANGEROUS AT HOME, NEED TO BE CAREFUL”

AC Milan Coach Massimiliano Allegri’s thoughts from Milanello ahead of the Serie A Week 25 game Pisa v AC Milan on Friday 13 February 2026. It’s the eve of matchday 25 in the league, with Allegri set to address the media at Milanello.

AHEAD OF THE PISA GAME

At the moment, they’re playing quite well, especially at home. They create plenty of opportunities and stay in the match right until the very end. We’ll need to take extra care, especially in terms of set pieces. Before the Derby, we’ll take on Pisa, Cremonese, and Parma, who are all teams that we only took two points in the first half of the season, and in the second half, every point matters. As well as that, it’s a crucial matchday because other teams will be involved in direct clashes. It won’t be an easy match, but we have the opportunity to move a step closer to our goal: securing a spot in the Champions League. To come back from Pisa pleased with ourselves, we need to secure a positive result, and for that we need to deliver a strong performance.”

BOND WITHIN THE SQUAD

“There’s some competition within the squad, and that’s healthy. It’s normal for those who aren’t getting minutes to be frustrated with me, but when they’re called up, they need to contribute. Teammates have to support each other on the pitch. We organised the dinner because someone had paid fines. Nkunku is a sensitive guy, and I told him he should smile a little more; he just needed time to settle in, but he has excellent technique, and it’s clear from how he plays.

OUR AIMS

“I’m glad that everyone is so ambitious that they want to give their best. Right now, we’re in a good position on the table, but the closer we get to the Champions League spots, the better we’ll be placed at the end of the season. In Serie A, it’s never easy or straightforward to win. Our aim is still to return to the Champions League, and for now, we’re still in the running for it. I’m pleased with how we’ve been playing so far. We could have definitely done better in the Coppa Italia; that’s our only regret, but we’re focused on where we need to be. Inter, Napoli, Juve, and Roma are strong, and we’ll need to be in excellent form until the very end of this season.”

INJURY UPDATES

“Pulisic is available again, though he has probably only got 15-20 minutes in his legs. Leão is also doing much better, and we’ll have Gimenez back in about a month. Saelemaekers is still not available, but we’ll see if he can recover in time for the clash against Como on Wednesday.”

THE OLYMPICS

I’d like to congratulate Brignone; coming back in the way that she has is not a simple task, but absolute determination allows you to perform at that level. As for the medal count, we Italians like to joke that we’re the worst, but in the end, we deliver the results. The athletes are winning medals and doing very well. We should be very proud of what we achieve; our sporting history speaks for itself. Seeing Baresi carrying the torch was truly moving. Now we’re looking forward to welcoming him to Milanello; it’s been a while since he last visited. These Olympics are good for Italy.”
