Baggio made his club debut on August 12, 1998, in the first leg of the second round of the qualifying stages of the tournament, where he scored a goal and assisted three times in a 4–0 victory against Skonto FC in Pisa.

Inter has managed to win only one of their last seven Serie A matches against Juventus (with two draws and four losses) and has suffered defeats in their last two encounters. The last time the Bianconeri achieved three consecutive league victories over the Nerazzurri was back in March 2012.
