Lazio won the Champions League Group Stage Matchday 4 game on Tuesday 7 November 2023 at Olimpico di Roma Stadium in Rome, Italy. Now Lazio has qualification for the Round of 16 in their hands. As early as next day, at home against Celtic, Sarri’s team will be able to secure a pass for the direct elimination phase.

A goal in the first half, in full stoppage time, was enough for Sarri’s Lazio to snatch the victory: the ball inside from Felipe Anderson for Immobile who appeared in front of the opposing goalkeeper, passed it with a feint and placed it into the net with the goal unguarded. In the second half Lazio played a sacrifice game in their own half to defend the result. Objective achieved and victory for the Biancocelesti

Lazio took the lead just before ending the first half in the 45+1. It is Captain Ciro Immobile to defeat Feyenoord goalkeeper with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Felipe Anderson. This is Immobile’s 200th goal with Lazio!!! Double celebration!

Pedro playing his 100th game with Lazio.

✅   Stats before the game: Lazio have won only one of the five European matches with Feyenoord (1N, 3P), but the success came in the last match at the home of the Biancocelesti: 4-2 in the Europa League last season. After winning 2-1 at Lazio in February 2000 and 1-0 at Inter in April 2002, Feyenoord have not achieved any success in their last five away matches against Italian teams in European competitions (1D, 4L) . Last season, in fact, they lost both matches played in Rome in the Europa League (2-4 against Lazio, 1-4 against Roma). Lazio have always conceded goals in their last 22 Champions League matches: it is the longest open streak among the teams participating in this edition of the tournament. Feyenoord have lost each of their last six Champions League away games, with an aggregate score of 4-14. Overall they have won just three of their 19 away games in the competition (D5 L11) – their last away win coming against Newcastle in September 2002. Lazio have not won any of their last three Champions League home matches (D2, L1), drawing the most recent one 1-1 against Atlético Madrid (equalizer scored by goalkeeper Ivan Provedel). Furthermore, in Lazio’s last nine home matches in the competition both teams have always scored (16 goals for the Biancocelesti, 15 against).
