Juventus lost the mega clash against Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League Group Stage – Group H Matchday 1 game on Tuesday 6 September 2022.   PSG inaugurates this new edition of the Champions League by winning the first three points in the group thanks to a brace by Kylian Mbappé. Juventus shortened the gap in the second half with Weston McKennie, able to take advantage of goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma’s indecision. On Matchday 2, Juventus will play at home against Benfica while PSG will visit Maccabi Haifa.

PSG won for the first time against Juve, and the previous eight official matches ended (2D, 6L), losing all of their last six.   Against no other team they have played more matches in European competitions without ever winning. The last match against Juventus  dates back to the 1996 UEFA Super Cup.  Juventus have lost only one of their last 10 European matches against French sides (7W, 2D), but the only defeat came in the last away match, 0-1 in Lyon in February 2020.
