Juventus FC announce that Thiago Motta has been relieved of his duties as Men’s First Team coach. The official announcement made on Sunday 23 March 2024.  The new Coach is Igor Tudor. The first training session tomorrow, Monday, 24 March.

The club would like to thank Thiago Motta and all of his staff for their professionalism and for the work they have carried out in recent months with passion and dedication. The club wish them the best of luck for the future.

Let’s break down the situation: Juventus is currently in 5th place with 51 points as of Week 29. They have one game pending and are 13 points behind Inter, who leads with 64 points. Will Tudor be the key to helping Juventus qualify for the Champions League next season?

Igor Tudor’s Juventus history is set to have a new chapter written.

A solid defender at first, and then a coach later, Igor is back with the Bianconeri to lead the men’s first team.

Having arrived at Juventus in the summer of 1998 from Hajduk Split, Tudor immediately made a name for himself in Turin with his physicality and tactical adaptability, and his ability to make his presence felt in attack as well. He wore our shirt until January 2005, winning two Serie As, two Italian Super Cups, and an Intertoto Cup. He then spent time on loan at Siena, before returning to the club but he didn’t manage to play again due to a long injury problem.

Throughout his time with Juventus, his solidity at the back and dominance in the air made him an important player at the centre of our defence, or in a back three. He was always a threat in attack too, scoring 21 goals in 174 official games, none more iconic than his 93rd-minute volley against Deportivo La Coruna in March 2003.

After hanging up his boots and starting his coaching career, he returned to Turin in 2020/21 to work with Andrea Pirlo, offering his experience to the team and helping to win the Italian Cup and Italian Super Cup.

Now, another new chapter begins.
Good luck, Igor!
