It’s just a sunny day in Rome and a somber day for Juventus.  It’s not like an everyday experience for Roma, lately ending in the second place in the league, to defeat their main rival Juventus.   It was a tough test and midfielder Daniele De Rossi will treasure this victory as he was also Captain.    Here are the declarations by Daniele De Rossi after the Serie A Week 2 defeating Juventus  on Sunday 30 August 2015 at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium.    AS Roma 2 – 1 Juventus

Great win tonight, Daniele. What pleased you most about Roma’s performance?
“Our team spirit. We put in a brilliant performance, especially in the first half but, I have to say, we played well after the break too. It’s just a shame we had a nervy last ten minutes.”

How did you see the game?
“We did well, dominating for 80 minutes, before switching off for the final ten. Great teams can’t afford to do that, in fact, with the opposition down to 10 men, you have to kill the game. But we’ll work on that and so today it’s a case of the glass being half full in my eyes. We’ve only played two games and it’s a long season. What matters is reproducing the same determined approach we adopted tonight going forward.”

How did you get on at center back?
“I’ll play wherever the team needs me. Today I played at the back and I’m happy. I would’ve been equally pleased had we beaten Juve with me in midfield. What matters to me is Roma winning and, where possible, with me on the pitch.”

Does today’s result change the balance of power in Italian football?
“I don’t think so, there’s a lot that we’ve seen before. Even when they were down to ten men, they still found a way back into a game that looked dead and buried. I believe Juventus will be fighting for top spot throughout the campaign. There’s still a long way to go.”

How big are these three points, with Juve now four behind?
“No points after two matches would’ve been hard to take for anyone, but Juve are traditionally a powerhouse. Coaches and players come and go but the mentality is always the same. I’m sure they’ll be competing right the way through the season and we need to do likewise.”
