Here are the declarations of Italy and Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci ahead of the UEFA Euro Qualification game Croatia vs Italy to be played on 12 June 2015.

Leonardo Bonucci will “focus on Croatia and Portugal to forget the defeat in Berlin. Conte told me to think only on the Croatia game and I’m doing that. These two games will give us the chance to forget as soon as possible the final played in Berlin. The table is showing that we are a step behind Croatia: they have some quality players but thanks to our tactical knowledge we can still make it a great game. We must play with calmness and pass the ball well. We have to defend with 11 men and attack with 11.  Modric will not play but they also have Mandzukic, a modern forward, who never gives up”.

On Italy coach Conte option to play with a back four system, Bonucci said: “When Conte changed the system used by Juventus to 3-5-2 he did it because it suited us best. What is the difference between playing with De Rossi and Pirlo? Daniele helps more in the defense, while Pirlo offers more on the game structure,” continued Bonucci.

“We are working well. When Conte takes a role, he is there until the end. I do not think that leaving the national team is in his mind. That’s why we feel relaxed. You always have enthusiasm in the national team. Everyone is giving his best and I saw Sansone working during those days: he is one of the surprises of the season and I think he could play an important role in the national team,” concluded Bonucci.

Sampdoria defender De Silvestri gave his opinions too: “I’m really happy to be called up for these prestigious games against Croatia and Portugal. I will give my all if I play. My skills help me adapt myself on more systems so I have no issues playing in a back four or a back three. There is the perfect mix of players with experience and young players and we also have the luck to work with a coach and his staff, which are one of the best,” said De Silvestri.
